Black & White Series / Distance, Scale, Mood, and Story

Decided to do some black and white studies. Most of these were done in a span of a day or a couple hours. The turtle and worship one took the longest the worship one took perhaps 3 days on and off of work on it. Also intended to make only 5, but the last comp for the lighthouse I could not make up my mind so I did both. Mostly happy with the landscape one. Main theme for these were size, distance, mood, and storytelling. Also one using red or a warm color. The worship one is the only one with two colors since my wife wanted blue butterflies so I put them in :) Another part of this was trying out the brushes I have collected, and also how to use them to get that more painterly look. Otherwise just have fun with it. Also mainly photoshop brush work only except for the few last ones had some photobashing and lighthouse was a 3D model picked up from free 3D website and edited for the use of this.
